Sisymbrium Irio Seed Oil description

_Sisymbrium irio_ seed oil comes from a plant (weed) also known as London rocket. It falls under the category of essential oils, with potentially sensitizing fragrant compounds that can be harmful when applied to skin. Ironically, many people tout _Sisymbrium irio_ as a medicinal herb with healing/soothing properties. While it’s true this oil contains antioxidants and fatty acids that can be beneficial to skin on their own, the fact that they are intertwined with volatile fragrant compounds means subjecting your skin to risk of irritation. The good news is that there are other non-fragrant plant oils that can deliver the same kinds of skin-beneficial compounds minus the potential harm. As a raw ingredient, this oil has a yellow to greenish brown appearance. Its scent profile is described as nutty, grassy or peppery depending on the exact varietal. Suppliers generally recommend a 0.1-0.3% use level, but this is ultimately an ingredient we advise avoiding in cosmetics.
